President elections in Transnistria - 2011

Presidential election in the Dniester Moldavian Republic in 2011, took place on December 11 (first round) and December 25 (second round). This is the fifth presidential election in Transnistria and the first in which needed a second round, and was not elected vice president, whose post was abolished.

The election involved six candidates. The turnout in the first round was, according to the CEC, 58.88%, in the second round - 52.46%.

December 26, 2011, the Central Election Commission of the Dniester Moldavian Republic recognized Shevchuk Yevgeny Vasilyevich elected President of the Dniester Moldavian Republic, received the vote greater number of voters who took part in voting in relation to the number of votes cast for a registered candidate for President of the Dniester Moldavian Republic Anatoly Kaminsky V. and approved the final report on the results of elections of the President of the Dniester Moldavian Republic.
